The Princess of Thieves Mod has a mask with large rings. I edited out the mask for the veil alone which I darkened (found at a chinese or korean site). They are more for Carnival than a thief's mask.

The masks seems to have the best shape to me. I'd do it like this - get the standalone skull model, apply the boneman textures, then take it to some 3D app like Outfit Studio to assign the proper weighting and partitions, and you can then alter the mod's helmet to have the skull inside and not display the character's head. The mask can be worn by both males and females, whether Mer, Human, or Khajiit (not for Argonians, sorry), and counts as light armor with a small armor rating.Unarmored version can now be crafted at the forge.
